  • VDI, Cisco VPN

    Hi all,

We are evaluating VMware/VDI technology and i've a question.

Most of the users need to connect to client network(using cisco VPN/webVPN or any other vpn client). The problem is once the user connect to VPN from VDI, the VDi itself gets disconnected(not able to use it) due to the firewall rules on cleint side, to route all traffic through the VPN tunnel.

In this case how can i use the VDI?Is there any workaround for this?

    Hi Pradeep,

I can't say I've a solution for you by I can help point out some relative information.

This article may be of some use. It suggests you use UDP for your VPN if using PCOIP with VDI.

"If your SSL VPN appliance already provide the capability to establish UDP based VPN connection you should use it."

There's a couple links to Cisco docs, Juniper docs in the article.

Here's a Juniper and VMware View video on Youtube.

Some of this may point you in the right direction. Sorry I can't be of more help.
