  • IP settings for a small test lab

    Hi,
I need to make a small lab for testing purposes.
My only connection to Internet is wireless, and I'm not allowed to change anything on the router.
This router is my DHCP server.

I have to build a virtual team with 2 domain controlers with static ip adressses and two working stations (yes, its for testing windows deployment). The problem is I don't know how to set IP adresses on servers and workstations, to keep internet connectivity and to work as team, and prolonged experimenting was unsuccessful so far...
My hardware is adequate for this purpose.
Any advice is more than welcome.

    TIA,
    Ivan

Configure them as bridged network interfaces, or use NAT interface.
This will give your VM's access to your networkcard and so to the internet.

Just curious.. what ip/subnet are you getting from DHCP and what ip/subnets are your setting as static on VMs
