I know that with vSphere Standard and Enterprise we get up to 6 cores per CPU
socket and with Advanced and Enterprise Plus we get up to 12 cores per CPU
socket. I have got an ESX host with 2 CPU sockets and each of the two is intel
Quad core processor which gives me total of 8 cores. I have got vSphere Enterprise Plus which enables me to license 12 cores but for one CPU. As I have got 2 CPU sockets in my ESX host, do I have to buy the licenses for 2 CPU sockets for vSphere Enterprise plus? thank you in anticipation for all those who reply to this question.

    cheers
