  • SRM and disaster recovery

    hello guys,
can you please let me know if disaster recovery and site recovery management are one and same or are they different features of VI suite. do we have to buy these disaster recovery tools from a third party vendor? if so what are the best vendors out there in the market for disaster recovery and SRM? thank you in anticipation for all those who reply to this question.

    Re: SRM and disaster recovery

SRM is a Disaster Recovery / Business Continuety tool. It's by VMware but it's a seperately license product. It allows you to failover a LUN / Collection of LUNS that contain VM's from one site to another but relies on underlying SAN replication technology.

We current have SRM implemented with two EMC Clarrion CX4-240's in physically seperate locations.
