  • VMWare Web Acces via HTTP

    Is there any way I can access the webConsole in a nonsecure way ? Currently its all HTTPS and i would like to have it clean HTTP since i already have 256bit encryption on the way in..

    Im running 8 ESX's with a single VC all 4.0.

    Re: VMWare Web Acces via HTTP

    I found a file at this location:

    C:\Documents and I found a file at this location:

    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\VMware\VMware VirtualCenter\proxy.xml

    In this file there are a couple of entries like this:

    <e id="5">
    <_type>vim.ProxyService.LocalServiceSpec</_type>
    <accessMode>httpsWithRedirect</accessMode>
    <port>8086</port>
    <serverNamespace>/ui</serverNamespace>
    </e>

    Change the content of the tag called accessMode to "httpAndHttps" instead of "httpsWithRedirect"

    Do this for the folders you would like both http and https access to. I did this to be able to use VC with an external SSL accelerator/offloader.

    Works for like a charm!
