    hi
    I downloaded vmware server after registering from its site.
    I hv installed it on windows xp. I got one icon on desktop
    as i double click it one exploere window opens and asks me to enter login name and poasswrd to "vmware infrastructure web access" (pl see attched pic also)
    I am not able to proceed ahead. I hv 2 operating system on my PC (window xp and ubuntu)

    pls help how to start Vm server to create 2 machines (one with windows and one with ubuntu) and use them.

    so when you ran the installer, it didn't ask you for usernames and passwrods ?
    try your normal windows password...

      Log in with your windows username/password

      Create you new VM's using the Menus

        i tried with my windows login id and password but it did not work.
        and i was not asked any login id and password during installation.

        pls guide

            I have not got any success so far. I have been trying to install vmware server on win xp. I have attached screen shots of what i go through. Please see attached jpg image and guide me how to install vmware server and get 2 virtual machines (windows and ubuntu, both are loaded on PC).

            I did not succeed even after creating admin id and password on PC in windows.

              Judging by your rather excellent bit of JPG'ery your username is 'Admin' and you dont have a password configured
