    I have installed ESXi now I would like to manage the thing now but it doesnt seem to have a linux command prompt and the link on the webpage (for my vmware server) to install the Windows VMware infrastructure Management Client seems to be broken. any help would be great

    ESXi doesnt have a Linux command line other than a rudimentary shell from the console. And the webpage for your server will only display a link to the VI client and some other hotlinks assuming you have tried to access the server via https://(servername). Do you have any VM's on it? If not just reinstall ESXi.

        I did find a copy of vi client on rapid share but now I try to create a VM and it doesnt see the disk it keeps trying to install from network my guess is it doesnt see the DVD player but I have tried every setting I can find to point to the disk and I have also tried an ISO with the same result.
        I know this isnt suppose to be this difficult and it really easy with the Citrix solution I am wondering if the download from vmware is corrupt in someway because this is the second thing that hasnt worked first the download link for the vi client is broken and now installing an OS
