  • vSphere webAccess service default behavior

Anyone know the default behaviour for the webAccess service on vSphere?

I've just upgraede our first production host and the webService does not start automatically on boot up. The same is experienced on our test host.

On ESX3.5 U4 the service automatically starts on boot, has this changed for vSphere? I can start the service manually but would ideally like it to start automatically as we sometimes grant users access via the web console as then they on see the VM's they have access to.

    I've followed the following article:

    http://professionalvmware.com/2009/0...4-web-service/

but it still doesn't work and after the reboot the options all turn back to off

    Any ideas?

    go to vSphere client/configuration/sofware-security profile/properties

    enable vSphere Web Access

    or

    esxcfg-firewall -e "vSphere Web Access"
    from the console
