Re: virtual center is virtual machine

If your Virtual Center is turned off then you have to turn it on again to get the functionality

If you are asking how do you control your ESX servers, if your VC is turned off, you can connect to each of the ESX servers directly with the VI client.

or you can web browse to tthe box on https and run use the web based interface, although it is java based I think so not the fastest.

Remember that if you are logging into the local machine rather that the virtual centre box it will be the linux user/pass not the windows domain logins you will probably be using when logging into VC

Bottom line: If you have a lot of VMware hosts, make sure your vCenter VM doesn't get DRS-ed or vmotioned around else you'll be spending a lot of time looking for it

          Good Question

Please use the script in startup.

          Command vmware-cmd <vm-cfg-path> start <powerop_mode>.

          vmware-cmd vmfs/volume/vmfslabel/VMName/VMName.vmx Start
