  • VCB does not recognize VMFS on LUNs

    Hi all,

We are using ADTX SAN boxes mapped to our ESX3.5 systems. I started to implement new backups with VCB. The problem is now that the VCB Proxy does not recognize all VMFS file systems on the different LUNs.

    Our setup:
ESX3.5 connected with 2x qlogic FC to MCData-FC-Switch to ADTX box. The ADTX box has 5 LUNs of which the ESX can see 3 LUNs that are all VMFS formatted. The other 2 LUNs are NTFS filesystems that are mapped to other servers. Mapping to different servers is done with SAN Zoning on the MCData-Switchs and directly on the ADTX SAN boxes (configured with Virtual Console Client).

Now I have implemented a new server (Win 2003) with only 1 qlogic FC (without Multipathing) and have mapped the 3 VMFS LUNs to that server and installed VCB Proxy on that server.
The problem is now, that this server seems to see the 3 LUNs as 3 paths to the same disk and only recognizes the last LUN as a valid VMFS.

Here is the log of vcbSanDbg:

Does anyone have an idea what to do so that the VCB Proxy sees all VMFS LUNs?

    Thanks
    Mathias
