  • NIC and ESX 3.5 U3/U4 question

    Hello,

I was wondering if the following nic is compatible with esx 3.5 u3/4 : intel PRO/1000 GT 10/100/1000Mbps PCI

i couldnt find a refer of it in the vmware hw compatiblity list.

If not, what cheap pci card would be compatible with esx 3.5 u3/4

please this is important to me as my vcp course begins in a matter of days

    thanks

I didn't construe your question, sir.

I stummbled across a site that says that the nic i mentioned is supported in esx 3.5, but it wasn't an official site so i dont know how to proceed.

My mainboard is the asus p5w-dh

My apologies -- my previous post was meant to be a joke with a bit of meaning behind it.

Since you said VMWare have a Hardware Compatibility List (HCL), you should check that and choose a NiC which is on the list.

You should find that the Intel Pro 1000 MT Desktop adapter works well.
