I installed a custom kernel from and compiled it with the config file from /boot , but i also enabled paravirtualization(VMI). The system runs good now and boots ok, but the odd thing is when I install and use the vmware-tools it causes system lock-ups when resource utilization goes high. Sometimes it locks-up when idle as well. I then have to use vm-support -X <pid> to kill the system. Am I supposed to run vmware-tools in a VMI kernel and whats going on here? I figured it was some sort of clocking issue so I have clocksource=acpi_pm on boot.
