  • Resetting Root PW

I need to reset the root PW on an inherited ESX 3 clustered server. I'm following these instructions:

    http://www.petri.com/vmware-esx-serv...overy-lost.htm

But I want to make sure that they apply to a cluster as well. I have 3 servers in the cluster, so do I need to bring down all three for the PW change to take effect? Or can I just bring down one?

Bring down the ESX hosts 1 at a time if you need to reboot into single user mode and seize the root password.

You'll need to do it on each server...
