  • How to detect guest OS running on VMware

    Hi,

    I have to abort my installation when we detect os is running on vmware machin. Please let me know if there is any registry/service on windows to detect this.

    Not much detail given, without which we can't give detailed answers.

    Check if VMware Tools are installed on the OS... not foolproof though as they may not always be installed.

    Check hardware profile, again not foolproof.

      A google for "query machine detect virtual" or similar may be worthwhile. too.
