  • ctl+alt+del not working for winserver2003

    Hi all,

    My first post.

    My server setup first:

Ubuntu Server 8.10 on bare metal install, VMware server2 on top of that. WinServer 2003 in the vmware server. The win2003 is a converted image from a bare metal install to vmware image.

I am using my ubuntu 8.10 workstation for web ui access to my vmware server.

anyways, I started up my winserver2003 in vmware, now I can't ctl+alt+del into Windows. It always releases my mouse from vmware when I press ctl+alt keys. I tried ctl+alt+insert, but again, it releases my mouse.

    Anything I could try?

    Thanks

    Heeter

As long as the VMware Remote Console has focus of the mouse, CTRL ALT INS should (by default) send a CTRL ALT DEL to the VM.

If all else fails, you can send a CTRL ALT DEL to the VM using the drop down menu as shown below:
