  • ESX 3.5 Convert to template

I am new with ESX and I am evaluating it. I would to use template to create new virtual machines, but when I right-click in any VM on my inventory, I cannot see the options: Clone, Clone to template and Convert to template. Could anybody help me

    Thanks

If you are using only ESX (and not virtual Center) you will not have that option

Templates, cloning and deployment are only available from VirtualCenter and not Stand-Alone ESX

As Maish says you need to have Virtual Center to get the clone option.

However, it is pretty easy to make templates without it. Have a look at this blog post for a guide.
