  • VMDK Report needed

    Hey guys,
I am trying to figure out a way to see how many vmdk files I have in a cluster and how much space that they are using?

My goal is to go to our application owners and say you are using this much space.

    Re: VMDK Report needed

    VI toolkit is your answer

    Code:
    get-vc <servername>

    get-vm | get-hardisk
That will give all the vmdk's of all the vm's in you infrastructure.

Of course you can output the code to make it more pretty, but that is more customization...

Thank you. That gave me a quick start on what I needed. In addition, I can look more into the toolkit.

        Hi Maish,

With the VI Powershell Toolkit... do I need to install powershell and the VI toolkit on the VC server before I can use this? (sorry I'm new to this) I just want to use powershell from my XP workstation and run scripts from here and not on the VC server.

        Thanks.

          Re: VMDK Report needed

I use it from my workstation with no issues. It gave me prerequisites on the items need to run with one being powershell.
