  • No ping to Workstation VMs

I have the same problem. Both host and guest are XP-sp2. Ethernet is bridged.

A ping from the guest to all my computers on the network works.
A ping from the host to the guest works.
A ping from all my computers to the guest gives a Time-out.

All my computers are in the range 192.168.1.*.
I ping to the IP numbers, not the hostname.

Cam you give me a tip (or solution)

Are you using VMWare, by any chance?
If not, what are you using for virtualization?

Then why do you post in this forum and not in the VMWare forum?

          Oeps... My mistake.

I will read it, search in the vmware forum and post the question there, if I did not solve it.

No, on host, guest and other computers, the firewalls are turned off.

I also 'played' with the virtual network cards, made by VMware, but still no luck.

                Thanks for thinking with me!

In the guest, the firewall was turned on.......

                  All is working now.

                  Maish Thanks!
