resize a LUN

  • resize a LUN

    Hi
    i have one of my lun's that i enlarged it and when i check under Cofiguration / Storage
    i can see it bigger size , but when i check under datasores i can see only the small one (the old before the change)

    what is the best way to fix it ? (esx 3.5)

    no idea what storage you are using, but generally when you enlarge a virtual drive, it does not enlarge the partition. just creates more available space on the VD for expanding the partition, or creating a new one

      My storage is NetApp
      and i meant when i define storage for data i can see only the small size (before the change)

        If this is FC - you will have to add an extent to the LUN.

        NFS will extend automatically.

          After you extend the LUN, to whatever machine you have presented it to, you'll have to expand the disk after that using "diskpart" if your using windows.
