  • New esx Install

    Hello all

    i just finished installing a new ESX 3.5
    i could not discover my lun provided , with the Iscsi
    and when i checked i saw that i cannot see any user from the DOMAIN
    the Customization Specifications under edit are grayed out and i cannot check it ???
    another question , i have two more HD localy on the server , how can i use them as Datastore ?

    There could be a number of problems here and you have not provided much configuration detail.
    Hardware or Software iSCSI initiator in ESX?
    iSCSI target is what and proven reliable/working in the past?
    Using CHAP authentication?
    Network configuration?

    You have no storage. Customization Specifications are for automating Windows VM template deployments. Have you created any Customization Specifications to edit?

    If your hardware is supported by the VMware HCL, create a VMFS volume on each, or better yet, stripe the drives together and create 1 VMFS volume on the two striped drives for better performance.

      Hi

      here are the detilas

      its a HP 380G5 server
      with Software iSCSI
      no CHAP
      for now only one network card is connected .
      as for the DOMAIN i meant that when i am loged with the VC
      i cannot add a domain user only the ROOT user

      first with SmartStart ?
