  • Using a VM created on a 32bit host on a 64bit host

Has anyone experienced any issues with the following?

I have a Windows 2003 SE Server 32bit guest which was created and works on a 32bit VMWare Server 1.07 host.

I have a second host VMWare Server 1.07 installed on Windows Server 2003 SE 64bit.

If I move the 32bit guest from the 32bit host to the 64bit host the VM will not start.

If I move a 32bit guest from the 64bit host to the 32bit host, the vm works fine.

What would cause a VM created on a 32bit host to fail when moved to a 64bit host. The guest VM is always 32bit.

    Your thoughts are appreciated.

I don't know. Please provide the contents of the file vmware.log in the guest VM's folder. This will display verbose information on the failure and hopefully point us in the right direction.
