  • Recommended lightweight Linux Distro for VM Serverf?

HI,it me again, heading another direction.

Can anyone recommend a light weight (just enuf to get it working) Linux distro to host VM server? I know I can prevent or remove the software I dont need, but I am at a loss of what I do need and not need to create a lightweight fast platform.

    TIA

    Bruce

I wouldn't recommend ubuntu for a server distro, not stable enough, too buggy, and the mainstream dev is oriented at the desktop market

I had a problem with ubuntu, which i believe was due to something with the time keeping being too slow with multiple virtual machines. I actually switched back to server 2003 as the host OS and things went faster. I prolly could have fixed the issue with a kernal recompile, and this was a version or two ago

no need to recompile anything, simply don't sync the system time, and everything will work
