  • Error during ESX 3.5 boot

    During the booting of a Dell PE 1950 (Which is compatible) using ESX 3.5 This entry comes up in RED " statssvc 3076461472 error unable to load stats depot hostagentstats in directory /var/lib/vmware/hostd/stats"

    Booting of of local drive

    I have googled and checked Vmware with no matches. any ideas?

    Does it prevent the loading of the VMKernel thus eliminating hypervisor functionality?

      No ESX does launch and i am able to log into the console using VClient

          Does /var/lib/vmware/hostd/stats exist?

            Unsure if /var/lib/vmware/hostd/stats exists.....

            Installation is fully licensed data management and optimization suite.

                  if it's a fully supported system, raise a call with vmware or oem provider (probably Dell)

                      I would first check for the existence of /var/lib/vmware/hostd/stats.

                      I would then look for associated entries in the various logs which are located in /var/log. The log with no number after it will be your most current log. Look at messages, vmkernel, vmksummary, and vmkwarning. Maybe dmesg.
