  • VMware ESX 3.5 with iCSCI SAN

    Hello,

    My current scenerio

My current setup have 1 DC, 1 Exchange, 1 file server and ISA server 2006 (as firewall, VPN and proxy) all server class machine; and 1 ADC on desktop machine.

    1) File server has around 500 GB data, that wont be more than 700 GB in the
    near future.
    2) Exchange server has 500 mail box and database is around 75 GB.

We have just purchased two servers and iSCSCI

    1) I have 2 Dell 2950 (2*quad core dual processor) Servers, one Dell Equallogi PS
    5000E iSCSI array.

    My question is:

Will it be fine architecture? If we install DC,Exchange and ISA on one ESX server and other will be there for High Availibilty and fault tolerence.

    Thanks

DC and exchange as VM, i dont think so it will be good.......even it will work......i think you need to first work on this scenerio in the test lab.....then only you can judge the performance.....even though your servers are good for ESX 3.5

no probs with virtualising the DC and Exchange.

however, it might be a good idea to keep your firewall/router on a separate machine
