  • Automatically Startup VMware Workstation Guest Operating Systems

    Can somone please tell me how to automatically startup VMware Workstation 6 guest operating systems?

    I read the artical on "Automatically Power Up VMware Server Guest Operating Systems". That is for VMWare server not for VMWare Workstation.

    Please Help...

    There is no way to do this in 6.0, I am looking into the possibility of doing this in 6.5 Beta though.

    For this you would be better off with going to with VMware server.

      Create a shortcut with the following TARGET line (adapted to your environement)

      "C:\Program Files\VMware\VMware Workstation\vmware.exe" -X "D:\My Virtual Machines\WS2003.vmx"

      The -X opens in Full screen
      Replace "D:\My Virtual Machines\WS2003.vmx" with your vmx file location.
      The "" are required.

      Put the shortcut into the Windows Startup folder
