  • configuration settings in windows

When RESTARTING a Windows pc after changing a configuration (like showing Quick launch on the taskbar and changing the keyboard language) it "forgets" the new configurations.

What can this be? Is there something in the VMware tools which resets the pc after restarting?
    (Snapshot was turned off)

mandotory profiles does not save settings but I dont think that
you are restarting from windows start menu not from VMware
    aren't you

That's true, I am restarting from Windows and not from VMware.

        check regedit
        start run
        regedit
        HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\ Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

if NoSaveSettings value 1 change it to 0
        but I dont think it
        it affects folder settings
are you using mandotory profile and version of windows

There is no policies in the path you gave me (HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\ Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer)

I am using Windows 98 under VMware Server, but under Windows XP it "forgets" the new configuration too.
