    Hi All,

I want to setup Test Virtual Network plus the DR for my Network. I got 3 Branch Office connecting through 2MB Link VPN. I got 5 Main Servers. ( SQL, Exch, File, Print and Citrix)

I got Syamantech Backup exec recovery Server for image the servers.

What is the best way to seperate test and LAN?

    Any Hardware recomendation?

I'm not quite sure what exactly it is you are trying to do.

Do you want to have a test bed of your network that you are going to virtualize??

To seperate the LANS all you need to do is to give them IP's in diffrerent ranges or stick an old router in between the networks.

I think a little more information of your current network may help out with the original post.

Whats your current recovery plan? Tape?

Are you trying to create a copy-cat virtual network of what you have now?

        HI,

Yes, I got TAPE solution and trying to copy -cat virtual network

Steps i took so far is image all the servers and turns to VM's.

Issue is If i start these VM's going to be a problem for duplicate servers and IPs. So i want to have 2 network setup to access these servers. so how do i do this?

And i got few old PC's and used for these VM's but i like to have one good server so any hardware recomendation?

What i thought as a DR, send these Vm's Server to my braanch Office and update weekly??

          Hi All,

I found the solutions. If you need to setup test network without changing anything ( IP or HostName).

I just plug this VM Server to my DMZ Switch and diable Broadcast.
and allow to connect from Inside to this Server. (RDP)

          1. Set the VM Guest OS to HOST Only, (NOT Bridge or NAT)
          2. Diablel VM Host DHCP
          3. Now you can set the Same ip's and test everything ( DHCP and DNS etc.)

If i get any issues i'll post. Thanks .
