  • problem after P2V

Hi, I have converted one Windows 2000 server machine to VM using latest P2V software(cold migration). But after migration I observed that, scheduled tasks security credentials are disappeared in migrated system (I mean VM on ESX here). The original machine has some around 100 scheduled tasks scheduled under different user credentials. But after migration every thing (I mean security credentials) disappeared in VM.

Any one has idea about this? Is it an expected behavior of P2V? I have already converted around 10 machines as of now and I haven't faced any such issue till now.

      Hi there,
I have not seen this before.
I am not sure what conversion method you tried but you might try a different conversion method.
For example - use Ghost with BART PE. Ghost the original machine then put it back inside a VM. I don't see how the scheduled tasks could be lost using a method like that.

So, what you can do is use BART PE to ghost it, recreate the VHD, then lay it back down. It takes some time but it works.
