  • Virtual PC 2004 SP1 Mouse Release

To release the mouse from the virtual PC you hold down Right ALT and move the mouse out of the window.

I was in a virtual screen and went to copy some files. I pressed Windows + E to open Windows Explorer (inside the virtual PC). When I pressed the keys, the mouse jumped to outside the virtual screen, and then I was able to use the mouse inside and outside the virtual area without having to capture or release it.

Now, even after a cold boot, the mouse will move in and out of the virtual screens WITHOUT the need to press the Right ALT key. Pretty good since that was a bit annoying having to release the mouse when it was captured.

Has anyone else experienced this event?
    1 1 was a racehorse.
    2 2 was 1 2.
    1 1 1 1 race 1 day,
    2 2 1 1 2

I've seen this happen when you load the VPC add-ons package. It allows you to seemlessly swap between the host and virtual OS.

Did you install it and not realize?

As Ahinson said it does that when you install the addons.

Re: Virtual PC 2004 SP1 Mouse Release

I had installed the add-on on every Virtual PC and I still had to release the mouse on each one until the Windows + E combination. Now I have to go and setup another machine and see what I may have been doing wrong.

Lastly, does anyone know where I can buy a Virtual UPS from my Virtual PC? (And don't say virtually anywhere)

                Brilliant.

I think we should make that one a sig.
