  • Newbie to Virtual Machines - Genuine Advantage Question?

I have just created a Windows XP Pro -SP3 Slipstreamed CD and would like to test its effectiveness in booting up my XP Pro . As I don't want to try this over the present XP Pro App which is already installed and working , I thought testing the CD on a Virtual PC would be a solution.

    Question :-

Would any additional installation of XP Pro even though "virtual" be forbidden by the Genuine Advantage rules ?

I am not sure what do you mean by
forbidden by the Genuine Advantage rules
    ...
You will need a legal license for every OS you run in virtual machines under Virtual PC. If you only want to try the installation CD, then set the network card in the virtual machine's settings to Local Only, test the CD and remove the VM.
