  • Virtual Server 2005 and Hyper-V on the same Physical server

    Hey ...
Is it possible to run both Virtual Server 2005 and Hyper-V on server 2008 on a single physical server?
did anyone of you try this? I could not find any help elsewhere...
    Thanks

What's the logic behind doing such a thing? BTW, I haven't tried it myself, but I don't think that the way these products work can work together, considering the major difference between the two.

Re: Virtual Server 2005 and Hyper-V on the same Physical server

      Thanks for the reply Daniel.
The Problem is Hyper-V doesn't support XP-SP3 and above that there is no support from MS exept for the Forums, as stated in the Hyper-V FAQ.
Out Server's got all the power to run Hyper-V but the virtual environment to be built is based on XP SP2.So, we wanted to try and implement Hyper-V too.

I tried it the other day and looks like both can co-exist but should have seperate VM's(so obvious) and found Hyper-V(XP-SP3) peforming Better (though my test was just to add vm, start vm and shutdown. No time)

      Thanks,
