  • Word 6 not start in Windows 3.11 in Virtual PC

    Hi

I am running Windows 3.11 in Virtual PC 2004 without problem.

I loaded Excel 5 and Word 6. Excel starts fine but Word will not.

I get an error message "There is not enough memory for Word"
When I click on this it says " Winword caused a general protection fault in Winword.exe at 00E7:0311"

I have increased the RAM up to 128MB and in Windows 3.1 set the swap file to 20MB, switched on 32 bit access and increased the cache to 4,096KB but no change.

How can I get Word to work?

    Thanks

First question is why do you want to use 3.11?
Can you try using Word in Win95 in Virtual PC?
Another option is to upgrade to Virtual PC 2007 and see if that makes a difference.
    1 1 was a racehorse.
    2 2 was 1 2.
    1 1 1 1 race 1 day,
    2 2 1 1 2
