  • Hibernation Removed after running Sysprep

    hi ,
    i m using MS virtual Server 2005 R2 when i runs sysprep on a VM i removes Option of Hibernation , i does not check it on physical Machine is it VS issue ? any body some idea ?

    Where does it remove the hibernation option? On the VM or on the host machine?

      on the VM , I m Running sysprep on VM and after restart option of hibernation removed , i m also check at control panel>power option>

        Why would you need hibernation for the VM?

          working in test environment. no time to shutdown and then start again. it takes much time , do u know how can i enable hibernation back ?

            Trouble is, the hardware has to support hibernation to see that option. I suspect that when VMWare built their "hardware" emulation, they reacted like Daniel did, and said "Hibernation?! In a VM?!".

            You can always "Pause" the machine, or snapshot it and turn it off... then you can recover to the snapshot instead of waiting for it to boot.

              I think he meant MS Virtual Server, so you can simply save state.
