  • Error when trying to start VM

I have a VM using Hyper-V that is not starting. I did not setup the VM and just noticed the VHDX was pointing to the wrong path. I changed to the correct path, but still get an error message. Here is the full message:
    Clonezilla failed to start
Synthetic SCSI Controller Failed to Power on with error
'The requested resource is in use'

The VM is running on a host Windows Server 2012.
I have attached a screen shot of the full error message.
    Any assistance would be appreciated.

    Thanks

Re: Error when trying to start VM

Is that drive in use elsewhere e.g.
    Attached to another VM
    Opened in Windows Explorer
    Opened in another program

(this could be over the network or locally)

If you power off the VM, back it up and then go to the settings and delete the disk drives and re-add and see if you still have an issue. When you remove the drive, don't opt to remove it from the disk system. You have the backup just in-case.
