  • Issue - Unable to P2V, error ID: 1612

    Hi,

Already did p2v 30+ servers but one of the servers that I try to p2v gives me the following error:

The connection to the Virtual Machine Manager server localhost was lost.

    1) Verify that localhost is online and can be accessed from your computer. Then try to connect again.
    2) Verify that the Virtual Machine Manager service on localhost is started, and then try to connect again. If the problem persists, restart the Virtual Machine Manager service.

    ID: 1612

    My SCVMM is 2008 R2 SP1
The server that I am trying to p2v is 2008r2

if you encountered such issue and resolved it let me know the how to...

Are you doing an offline or online P2V?

I have had several issues where the agent could not be installed. I resolved it by using disk2vhd instead of the vmm tooling.

I see. In which case, are you able to schedule an offline P2V? I know that Windows 2008 supports online but as that server is failing, it is worth trying an offline one.
