  • Reloading Server 2016 on C

I have a corrupt registry on C of my Hyper-V host. The VM is on the D drive. I'm not deleting anything off of that. My question is this, do I need to copy anything out of the program files\hyper-v folder or any other folder before I blow out the C drive?
I'd rather check my Facebook than face my checkbook...

    Thanks,
    Todd

No - you can now import the VM without exporting it previously, so it should be just rebuilding the host.

Obviously you will have to recreate virtual networks etc too.

Yeah, that's what I ended up doing. Just exported the VM to a USB hard drive, blew out C, reinstalled windows and Hyper-V and then pointed Hyper-V to the Data drive where the original VM was located. It picked back up and worked like a charm.
