Does anyone see any problem with moving/copying a VHDX from SAS disks to SSD disks. My procedure would be. run a backup. Shutdown guest machine, remove VHDX from guest machine, move VHDX to new SSD disk, add VHDX to guest machine....... BINGO. my guest machine now benefits from running on SSD disks.

No problems, but wouldn't it be simpler to shut down the VM, right click in HyperV manager and "move"?

I agree with Ossian. Move the VHDX rather than the method you described.
