  • Hyper-V R2 SQL2008 Active-Active Cluster

    Hello everybody!

I am configuring the following setup:

Two servers connected to a SAS storage with Hyper-V R2 and SCVMM.
I am planning to configure the system for live-migration with CSVs for some non critical VM's.

Besides that I am interested in running an Active-Active SQL2008 Cluster, which is installed inside the guests.

I Would appreciate your opinion about that, is it possible, a reference to a guide maybe...

    Thank you,

    Arkadi Ruditzky

    Re: Hyper-V R2 SQL2008 Active-Active Cluster

I know that with 2 Dell R610s and an MD3000, provided you have dual SAS HBAs, you can definitely do active/passive for Hyper-V.

using C0T0 and C0T1 for Controller 0, Target 0 and Target 1 respectively, and
    H0T0 and H0T1 for host 0 target 0

    We cabled:
    H0T0 to C0T0 and H1T0 C1T0
    then we did
    H0T1 to C0T1 and H1T1 to C1T1

And configged the cluster from there.
It needed a special multipath driver, and to have the paths and groups configured on the array as well...

Hope this helps you a bit
