  • Legacy NIC Disconnected?

    HI,

I'm building my first Hyper-V VM (Win XP Pro) and it had no recognisable NIC so I installed a legacy NIC ... Yay! It recognised it but it's showing as disconnected. Any ideas?

EDIT: Glancing through the free MS eBook Daniel P links to at the top of the forum I suspect I am missing a virtual switch somewhere in this scenario ... looking at some of the Petri documentation (excellent stuff) I think I may be missing some kind of link to the virtual switch created when Hyper-V is installed. I'll keep looking but in the meantime, any advice appreciated

    SOLVED: Legacy NIC Disconnected?

No worries (for anyone who looked), it was exactly that ... I needed to create a virtual switch that interfaces with the external network.
