  • Virtual Display Adapter in VM

    Hi

    Just wondering if someone can help me, my VM is set to 800 x 600 16 bit colour but if i set to 1024 x 768 half the screen disappears and i dont get a 32 bit colour option am i limited to 800 x 600 16 bit colour?

    My VM is server 2008 fully patched with latest integration installed.

    Are you sure it's supposed to give you that resolution?

      thats what im asking is that the best you can get with an emulated display driver inside a VM, i wouldnt think its is but not 100% 800 x 600 is just way small there must be a way of updating the driver or some way to give 1024 x 768? anyone any ideas

        now when i change resolution to 1024 x 768 it changes alright but the actual size of the viewable window is still 800 x 600 so half the screen is missing.

        anyone any ideas?

          Are you talking about the VM control screen? What happens when you connect to the VM via RDP?
