  • S03 -> S12 / S12E ; Single Label Domain

    Potential client has a single label windows 2003 DC. (Server.company)
    There is no Exchange and the site should be fairly small, but suspect there's more going on than it looks, however it's still only a single server. It's fairly clean and I haven't run any pre-migratory tools etc yet

    I'm proposing a migration to (probably) 2012 Essentials which, with no exchange, should be fairly easy to do. Except this single-label domain.
    Do I rename it (which should be straight forward, I've done it before on my domain) or do I start again?

    How many clients?
    1 1 was a racehorse.
    2 2 was 1 2.
    1 1 1 1 race 1 day,
    2 2 1 1 2

        I would change the setup to what you think is best for the client's future growth and easier for you to support it. I change the name of my home network and didn't have any issues but it was a long time ago. If you remember the steps then that may be your quickest option.

        Have you ruled out any quirky apps the would be affected by any name change?

            Is there a requirement for renaming the domain?
