  • drive encryption

    Hi ,

We are using Windows Server 2012 , Hyper V installed and configured many servers running inside hyper-v.

Now I want to implement a server drive encryption for my Hyper-V Server and virutal servers inside it. So if i implement bit locker in server , will it be helpful. Will it degrade my data access speed on my server
is it advisable to implement it on DC and File Server...

    Thanks,

    Re: drive encryption

So what research have you done already? A very quick reference to says Bitlocker is not supported within a VM (no TPM) so you can only encrypt the host partition:

What is the business case for encrypting server drives - is there a risk of theft as that is the only thing it will really protect against?
