  • A yellow explanation sign viewable on network connection in Task bar) and internet st

    Hi All,

We are facing an internet stop issue on in our organization most of machines like :- (A yellow explanation sign viewable on network connection in Task bar) and internet stop responding.

Only solution is we need to restart the machine and machine take a long time to restart. While disable/enable the LAN card its stucked and need to restart the machine.

Event logged it show notification event id 1014.

    Possible solution we tested :-

We have re-install the fresh OS on machines and tested the machines without any window update and with full window update also but issue remains same.

We have tested the issue by keep the machine in work group and using the Live DNS abut issue remains same.

We have checked our AD and DNS but not found any error logs everything is working fine.

Note :- We have the our AD and DNS on server 2012 environment.

We are facing this issue frequently basis on end user machines issue occurring only while user start producing the traffic on network. If machine is stable without producing any network traffic issue rarely occurred.

On the basis on Event OD 1014 solution provided by Tech Net :-

We completed all the possible solution :-

    Disable IPV6 in our network
We are not using any Spanning tree and fast port in our network.

Please suggest your valuable comments for solving this issue as we are unable to get resole this issue.

    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks,
    Amar

Can you PING an external IP when this condition exists? eg 8.8.8.8
    1 1 was a racehorse.
    2 2 was 1 2.
    1 1 1 1 race 1 day,
    2 2 1 1 2

Where do your clients point for DNS resolution?

      Are you using DHCP?

Do you have any time limits imposed on internet connections?

      Do you use a proxy?

Does internal browsing work when you are experiencing this issue?

Ans :- Currently we assigned our local DNS IP on user machines for DNS resolution.

Note :- We have tested the same by using the live DNS IP on user machines and adding machine in workgroup. [Means her we are by passing the AD and DNS].

Are you using DHCP? [No we are not using the DHCP]

Do you have any time limits imposed on internet connections? [No]

Do you use a proxy? [Our gateways are on Linux environment and we are using squid proxy.

Does internal browsing work when you are experiencing this issue?
Internet browsing is not working while we experiencing this issue.

Note :- Additionally we are also using the SEP 12.0 Antivirus in our network. Please let us know if this will also cause for this issue.

          Thanks,
          Amar

            Hi,

I found some other administrators faced with this issue. When you are pinging how far can you get? Can you ping you're gateway? Can you ping the DNS of you're provider?

Do you use DNS forwarders or are you relying on you're roothints?

Hope to hear from you soon.

Have you temporarily disabled SEP 12.0 Antivirus to rule that out? I take it you mean it's the Client AV?

Aha! Check your firewall logs. We had a similar issue where the firewall was blocking port 53 traffic (DNS) because the memory/process that created it had been modified.

We saw Win7 machines intermittently unable to access the Internet and they had incredibly slow/no network access.
