  • WinXP Group Policy

    Hello Guys,

Just to describe the network environment, i have a single server running windows server 2012 and configured as DC, DHCP, DNS. The clients PC's are mixed (WinXP, Win7, Win8 ), I applied a Group Policy to block the write access on removable storage, the policy is applied on windows 7 and windows 8 but not on clients running WinXP.

    Kindly recommend, thank you...

If you're applying these settings via GPP then you probably need this:

hello, thank you for the replies,

The policy applied is the following:

In the Group Policy Management Editor window, expand Computer Configuration > Policies > Administrative Templates > System > Removable Storage Access.

Deny Write access to CD, DVD Rom, Deny write access to Floppy and Deny write access to Removable storage devices.

          Re: WinXP Group Policy

All those policies are either Vista and newer or Win 7 and newer. So they don't apply to XP. I don't know off the top of my head how to control this on XP computers.

I'll take a quick look around and post back if I find something.
