  • Recent updates broke CIFS/SMB mapping from CentOS

I have been using a share on a Windows 2012 R2 server as an Alfresco backup destination for several months without issue. My CIFS mount to this share failed after the reboot from installing these updates: Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool for Windows 8, 8.1, 10 and Windows Server 2012, 2012 R2, 2016 x64 Edition - May 2017 (KB890830), 2017-05 Security Monthly Quality Rollup for Windows Server 2012 R2 for x64-based Systems (KB4019215), and May, 2017 Security and Quality Rollup for .NET Framework 3.5, 4.5.2, 4.6, 4.6.1, 4.6.2 on Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2 for x64 (KB4019114). Has anyone else experienced this or can you offer some guidance on getting CIFS mount working again? I removed the updates but the issue did not resolve itself so I am assuming that some of the changes did not roll back.

Which version of CIFS or SMB does it work on?
You can check / change SMB configuration using Powershell - https://www.petri.com/configure-smb-...ws-server-2012.
