Can you give us a few more clues?
What sort of certificate is it?
    a) Self Signed
    b) Internal CA
    c) Free third party certificate
    d) Paid Third Party Certificate

I think the current certificate will need renewal (https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/...(v=ws.11).aspx)
You can change the validity period for newly issued certificates (https://social.technet.microsoft.com...serversecurity) but that wont affect ones already issued
