  • Built in Administrator Account Troubleshooting

    Hi everyone,
I recently installed windows server 2012 R2 on virtual machine and i am trying to get some things right before i apply them on a real scale computer network environment. At first i was thinking about changing the local username of the client connected to my network from "User" to something else and then add a password of my own. Then i want to change the built - in local Administrator account name to something else again and with a password again of my own. I don't want to disable the last one because i might have to use the rights that come with it at some point. So in that way i could have two accounts to open the client computer and also i could log in using my domain controller administrator account. Is there any way to do the first part with the two accounts modification using gpo? Or a batch file that will be activated on the client PC after the initial setup?
    Thank you

Yes, I'm fairly certain you can use gpo to rename the local-admin account.

Yes, you can rename the built in administrator by using GPO.
