  • Server 2012 SMTP relay missing TLS cert

I'm trying tom setup an SMTP relay on one of our servers so I can run the printer scan to email jobs through office 365. I setup the role but it says TLS is not available without a certificate. I followed these steps to create one but it still says it needs a certificate. I tried rebooting after just to be sure. Am I missing a step to get the SMTP svc to see the certificate?

You don't need to install an smtp relay for a printer to Office365. It's far easier to create a scoped connector on the Office365 platform

Its not just the copiers, I have monitoring systems, scripts in some web apps all things that send out emails in some form or another that wil need to be made in someway to relay through Office 365. Our Dell Open Manage system can't seem to send directly through it so this is why I am looking at the SMTP relay option.

Option 3, SMTP relay takes care of scripts and monitoring systems too.. not sure why OM wouldn't work..
