  • Worker_invalid blue screen

    Hello,

Two months ago I set up a Windows 2012 R2, within vmware.

Every once in a while, it throws a blue screen, "WORKER_INVALID"

Going to google, I found this:
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/lib...or=-2147217396

Where it is said: "cause: This is usually caused by a driver freeing memory which still contains an executive worker item."

So, There is no solution provided in this Microsoft site, or even not recommendations.

I am not that technical to know what that means "a driver freeing memory which..." .

I wonder whether someone could help me here.

    Thanks in advance.

As it appears to be a driver issue I would check that all drivers are up to date on the host server. I have never used virtualisation so I don't know if there are further steps you need to take on the VM itself.

Sorry about my delayed answer Wullieb, and thanks a lot for your time!

Very old software, latest is version 11.

I would be very, very surprised if 7 actually supports Server 2012 and as such could be the root cause of your issues.

Download and update to Workstation 11 would be my recommendation.

Thanks a lot Wullieb. As a matter of fact, I often thought that was the issue too, an out-of-date VMWare Workstation, but since it is not a free aplication, I went along.

              Thanks!
