Re: Copy shared folders with permissions

XCOPY or ROBOCOPY are free and have options to preserve permissions:

Look into the microsoft file server migration tool. It will do this and it is free.

Re: Copy shared folders with permissions

We have tended to sue ROBOCOPY as already recommended and ensure we store the logs away that indicate what has transferred across, which are useful when a user complains that their file has gone missing.

We do the same thing in our org.

            Code:
            robocopy \\SERVERandPATH *.* /e /sec /r:0 /w:0 /LOG:D:\logname.Log
            Is what we use.
